Fr. Denis Gavin, CSSp. was Chief Celebrant at last Sunday's Boarders’ Family Mass, (11th September 2011).
On this historic date it was pertinent that the Gospel and Fr. Gavin’s Homily focused on the importance of forgiveness.
Fr. Gavin referenced Nelson Mandela, and Senator Gordon Wilson who have given great example to our world community.
However, it is at a more mundane level that forgiveness is essential, particularly in a family or Hall of Residence.
There was a tremendous turnout, with great participation by the Boarders, most notably, their singing, which was loud and tuneful.
The new President of the Union, Mr David Harvey (Class of 1979), attended his first function of the academic year and was welcomed.
