Rock Reaches Out To Kenya Golf

This year, with Rock Outreach 2013, 42 Blackrock
College students (alongside 16 parents) will
travel to Machakos in Kenya to work on the
charitable project they have chosen to support.
The boys have decided to help Fr. Martin Keane to
build a Holy Ghost school in Machakos. The
students and the travelling parents will entirely
cover their own expenses, which means that all the
money raised will go towards the building of the
school and those travelling will work on the
construction for 10 days between July 26th &
August 7th 2013.
I am hoping you can support us and the boys in
this by entering a team into the Rock Outreach
2013 Golf competition in Dun Laoghaire Golf Club
which is being held on Friday May 17th. It is a 4
person team event with a shotgun start at 9.30am
and 2pm, followed by a gala dinner at 7.30pm in
Dun Laoghaire GC.
The day includes golf and dinner in the evening
for your team. There will be a space at the
dinner should you wish to invite non golfers to
the evening.
The event has been priced competitively given the
current economic climate and it is the hope of the
students and the organisers that you can support
the event.
Dun Laoghaire Golf Club was selected as the
Overall winner of the Best Parkland Course 2013
Award at the Golfers Guide to Ireland Awards in
Dublin on the 15th January 2013. This popular and
influential annual golf publication, now in its
22nd year, presents a series of awards each year
to courses that are voted ‘best in class’, as
determined by a panel of independent judges.
